Shraddha wants to move on from romance

Actress Shraddha Kapoor, recently seen in successful love saga "Aashiqui 2", says she wants to go beyond the genre of romance on screen, and try her luck at different roles, especially a grey character.

"The fact that people liked 'Aashiqui 2' and my character (Aarohi) in it, they now want to see me in a lot more romantic films. I would like to do romantic films, but honestly I would like to do beyond that as well," Shraddha told reporters here at an event.

"I would like to do other genres also and it will be interesting," she added.

Shraddha, daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor, made her Bollywood debut with "Teen Patti" in 2010. But she earned popularity only with "Aashiqui 2".

Asked about the kind of roles she wants to play, Shraddha said: "If I will get the opportunity to be a part of a very interesting character that has grey or white shades, then why not? I would love to play it." Meanwhile, the actress will soon be seen in Mohit Suri's next "The Villain". I have no time for Men, Catfights and 4 AM Freinds: Nargis Fakhri

I have no time for Men, Catfights and 4 AM Freinds: Nargis Fakhri
Monday, October 14, 2013 11:19 IST
Nargis Fakhri's link-ups have made news quite often. However, the lady says that she's focused on her work, and has no time for love. She says, "I want to invest all my time into acting and improving myself."

After playing a journalist in Shoojit Sircar's film, Nargis is busy shooting for her next project, which will release in spring 2014. In an interview with CS, Nargis shares the heart ache of being an actress, having friends in the industry and finding her right man.

The bane of stardom
Fame -- intrusion on your privacy is the biggest con of being an actor. I think some things should be left alone but it seems that once you are a so-called public figure, your life is constantly under a microscope. People want to scrutinise, analyse and just want to know everything about you. I used to get upset initially, then I started laughing it off. Nowadays, I find it amusing and at times. It's definitely very annoying.

Bonding with buddies
I think it's tough to maintain friendships in the industry because of the lack of time. We, actors don't have the time to invest into a friendship. Whatever little time one has, he would like to stay at home and sleep. That's what I would do.

I don't feel insecure or threatened by other actresses, so I welcome a friendship. Being an outsider, I find the idea of catfights and camps to be a strange one. I come on the sets, do my work, and leave.

So far, the people I have worked with have been quite nice to me, and I hope it continues that way. I don't understand this concept of 4am friends.

Alpha's rules
I always hear that Bollywood is a male-dominated industry. However, women are slowly making their mark, and wowing everyone with their talent. I think it's changing and the industry is entering into it's best phase right now. People are taking more risks now.

No time for love
Honestly, I think I owe my free time to my family first, and then to my friends all of whom live overseas. So, there's no time for a relationship. Moreover, I want to invest all my time into my work and learning the craft in order to get better.

I know that I have a shelf time and want to make the best of it. Relationships like people come and go but your career is important to your freedom. I'm an independent woman and working is what makes me happy right now.

Finding Mr.Right
The idea of a perfect man doesn't excite me. As long as I can find someone that fits in or at least someone whose imperfections do not annoy the hell out of me, it would be great. He should be cultured, intelligent with a great sense of humour. My man should be a travel freak and emotionally present for me, whenever I need him.

Deepika Padukone narrowly escapes group protesting against her film 'Ram Leela' at a garba event in Ahmedabad

When Deepika Padukone got ready to attend the ongoing garba festivities in Ahmedabad, little did she imagine what was in store for her. Eggs and tomatoes! A group of protesters had gathered on the garba grounds to agitate against her upcoming film, Ram Leela for some allegedly controversial content.

Onlookers say that the group had almost readied themselves to pelt Dippy with the eggs and tomatoes when they were informed that the makers had agreed to take the content off the film.

Says a source, `Members of the Jadeja and the Rabari community were set to attack the actress as well as the organisers at the venue. The situation got tense but finally they backed down after they were told that the apparently offensive portions from the film had been re-dubbed.`

According to an insider from the production, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already communicated the decision to edit out the portions to the senior members of the community but word had not percolated to the agitators at the grounds.`

After the matter was sorted, the protestors left the ground and Deepika continued with the evening's affair. The official spokesperson of the film says, `Ram Leela is a well-made film which does not antagonise, offend or disrespect any community, whatsoever.`by santa banta news team.

Identity Crises: Excuse me! I am Shilpa not Vidya

Identity Crises: Excuse me! I am Shilpa not Vidya
Tuesday, October 15, 2013 14:01 IST
Shilpa Shetty was recently in Pune for the opening of a jewellery showroom. Though Vidya Balan is the brand ambassador, she could not make it due to her other commitments

Consequently, Shilpa was invited for the inauguration. But the sultry actress looked visibly awkward when the brand owner referred to her as Vidya Balan, not just once but twice in his speech.

When asked about it, Shilpa sportingly said, `Vidya and I are friends so I don't mind this mistake.` She also stated that Vids should go out of the country for work often so that she could get to replace her often. Wonder what Vidya has to say about this identity crisis.
