Is Shahid Kapoor paying the price?

Is Shahid Kapoor paying the price?

Sources say the debacle of 'Mausam' cost Shahid Kapoor an upcoming film

Looks like the debacle of his dud film Mausam is still dogging Shahid Kapoor. Insiders say Sasha's dad, Pankaj Kapur had been trying to acquire the remake rights of the South film, Arya 2, soon after the release of his son's Sonam Kapoor co-starrer. However, buzz is that given the dismal performance of Mausam at the box office, the Kapurs were forced to let go of the deal.

If rumours are to be believed, the same remake may now star Girish Kumar in the lead, with insiders saying that daddy Kumar Taurani has bid for the project and is rather keen on helming the film.

While Arya 2 managed to create waves in the South film industry, the film's track Ringa Ringa made its way to the music charts, as well as in Salman Khan's Ready as Dhinka Chika.

Says an insider, `The director of Arya 2, Sukumar was interested to remake the film with Shahid. Talks were held twice with two different production houses. However, soon after Mausam tanked, the deal fell apart.`

Earlier this year, the Tauranis initiated talks to acquire the rights and the deal will be finalised soon. Sukumar is currently busy with his next film, starring Mahesh Babu.

While Pankaj Kapur rubbished the buzz, Kumar Taurani said, `Nothing has been finalised.` The Tauranis already hold the remake rights of Arya 1.

Shahid's spokesperson denies knowledge of the actor ever expressing interest in the project. `In fact, everyone was surprised as there has been no discussion on this project as far as we know,` she adds.

My `Ram Leela` item song is modern mujra: Priyanka

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who has done an item song in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela', describes it as a modern mujra which has Indian vibes with a western touch.

"The song is very different and special because I am a huge fan of Mr. Bhansali. It's a modern mujra which you all have not seen for a long time. It's a mujra, but modern. It's got Indian music and vibes, but still western and contemporary.

`It has got a different look, different form of dancing and I didn't have time to rehearse. I used to rehearse at night," Priyanka told reporters here.

Aishwarya Rai was reportedly approached for the item song before Priyanka.

`Ram Leela` features Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead.

I rejected 'Krrish 3' because I was very hurt: Kangna Ranaut

I rejected `Krrish 3` because I was very hurt: Kangna RanautT
Kangna Ranaut comes clean about her fights and her ambitions of turning a director

Kangna Ranaut likes variety, may it be in the salad she munches on or the cup she drinks her tea in. Waiting for the release of two largely diverse movies, the actress speaks to HitList about various things. Excerpts of the interview.

You make headlines for your style choices...
I don't do it for people to judge me. I am a very stylish person. I like dressing well. I like eating fancy food and my house too is a testimony of that. If I think that my salad is not very fancy, I will go out and get it myself. I will buy my own salad and dressing. I can't drink tea in the same cup everyday either. I like to have variety and style in every thing I do.

You've been often accused of throwing tantrums on the sets...
Yes I know, but I am okay with it. I am quite a moody person, so many people think that I throw tantrums. I like doing things, which are out of the box. I wish I could do something different all the time. I like being a diva and trying new things. I know such rumours come with being a star. Some of those stories are too cute.

Are you happy being single at the moment?
Why do people want me to get married? No, I am in a very happy space. I am not looking forward to getting into a relationship at the moment. I enjoy being a single woman and I don't think I want to get married, at least for now.

How is your debut direction coming along?
Yes, I am looking to start the venture next year. I have written a script with an Australian writer but the casting is taking a lot of time. Hopefully it should be done soon. As actresses, we are very busy. But sometimes, we also pretend to look busy. But we do get time to pursue our hobbies.

Do you feel you have got your due as an actress?
Earlier I used to feel so. But after I got the kind of roles I am doing in 'Krrish 3', 'Rajjo' or 'Queen', my opinion has changed and I have evolved as a person. I feel my acting graph is going up and I am in a very happy space.

But you had initially rejected 'Krrish 3'.
I had a bad experience when 'Kites' released and I was very hurt by what had happened. Anurag Basu was a close friend and at that time I did not even talk to Hrithik or Rakeshji about it.

I felt that if Anurag had chopped my role, he should have told me, so that I could have mentally prepared myself for it. Before reading the script of 'Krrish 3', I rejected the film, considering my past experience. But even then, the Roshans were good to me. I started regretting my decision. But Rakeshji approached me for the film again and this time I said yes right away.

Was it tough playing a mutant?
I had to understand the role right and then had to prep for it. And of course, the make-up, the look, the costumes and the hair... It was a huge task to maintain the look and also to get into those costumes.

Rude Shock: 'Dhoom 3' makers insulting Aamir?

Rude Shock: `Dhoom 3` makers insulting Aamir?
Actor Aamir Khan does things to perfection. He is known to be a Perfectionist. But in Dhoom 3 his advice is being ignored (he plays a villain in the film) and the actor has apparently been kept away from giving his own inputs.

Aamir is used to give his views and decisions in movies but things are a bit too different for YRF's Dhoom 3.

According to a reports, the makers of the film are keeping Aamir miles away to close the post production work quickly. They have kept him far -far away from the rough cut of the film!

Doesn't it seem insulting for Aamir?

From his early days starting from Lagaan till now, the star has always been privy to the rough cuts of his movies. From Ashutosh Gowarikar to Reema Kagti, Aamir has provided his inputs to all and every director has incorporated his wishes in the final cut as well.

Further reports say the movie is slated for release this Christmas, the banner probably intends to start promotions with a bang post the release of Krrish 3. Given that the release isn't too far, the producers fear a delay in promotions if the icon demands changes!by santa banta news network.
