'I couldn't have found a better project than NH-10': Anushka Sharma

`I couldn`t have found a better project than NH-10`: Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma is joining hands with Phantom to produce Navdeep Singh's next film called NH 10. Anushka, who plays the lead in the film, liked the script so much that she has decided to co-produce it with Phantom. At 25, this makes her among the youngest actor-producers on the block taking her into a different league altogether vis-a-vis her contemporaries. With two of the biggest films Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay with Aamir Khan and Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet with Ranbir Kapoor, NH 10 will be her third release next year.

Continuing with their content driven films like Lootera, which released this year, Phantom will back Navdeep Singh to direct his second film post his critically acclaimed debut Manorama 6 feet Under. The film is an edge of the seat action thriller about a road trip gone wrong. It brings together a very talented crew of technicians including international action directors.

Speaking on her new role, Anushka says, `I'm thrilled to get a chance to do this so early on in my career. And I couldn't have found a better project than NH-10 to kick-start this new phase in my film journey. This is my second film after Bombay Velvet with Phantom, and it's a blast working with them. It's going to be super-exciting working together again on what promises to be an explosive film.`

Adds Vikramaditya Motwane of Phantom; `It's extremely reassuring for us when the lead actor wants to join hands, to back an outstanding script like NH10. We strongly believe in the script and know that Navdeep is going to make a kickass film out of it`.

Being shot this winter across the northern plains around Delhi, NH 10 will release 12 Sep, 2014.byy santa banta news network..

What hero? For Deepika, chemistry lies in film's script

What hero? For Deepika, chemistry lies in film`s script

Deepika Padukone's chemistry with Ranveer Singh in "Ram-leela" is much talked about thanks to its trailers, but she credits its script for this.

The actress says she has shared a great onscreen camaraderie with her other co-stars as well, and that's why she believes that the chemistry lies in the script.

"I have had great chemistry with three other people as well. I have had it with Ranbir (Kapoor), Saif (Ali Khan) and Shah Rukh (Khan). I think that's really a classic example of 'chemistry lies in the script'. It lies in the dialogues, it lies in the way the characters are written," the 27-year-old said here Tuesday at the unveiling of the cover of Star Week magazine featuring her.

She also says "a large part" of the chemistry is to do with "your comfort level with your co-star".

"But the fact that I have had great chemistry with three to four people, (I guess) a lot of it is in the script," she added.

Deepika has already delivered two superhits this year - "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" with Ranbir Kapoor and "Chennai Express" with Shah Rukh Khan, both making it to the Rs.100 crore club.

She shared screen space with Saif Ali Khan in "Cocktail" last year.

Deepika hopes that "Ram-leela" and her films in the new year prove to be equally special.

"I hope 2014 is as special for me as 2013 was. In the beginning of the year the only thing I knew was I am going to have four releases. I didn't know how each of them is going to do. Each film was so different from the other.

"It also tested me in terms of the amount of work I was doing because there was a time when I was shooting 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', 'Chennai Express' and 'Ram-leela' at the same time.

"But looking at the results of 'Chennai Express' and 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', I can't complain. It was worth every minute of being on those film sets. I just hope with 'Ram-Leela' and the other films that I am doing, it is going to be equally special," she added.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram-leela" is slated to release Nov 15.byy santa banta news network.

Should've taken time to deal with my dad's loss: Priyanka priyanka157

Should`ve taken time to deal with my dad`s loss: Priyanka priyanka157

Just four days after her father's death Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra resumed work and says she did so to escape from dealing with her loss.

The actress' father Ashok Chopra died in June this year after battling cancer. A doctor by profession, he had retired from the Indian Army in 1997 as lieutenant-colonel.

"I don't think it's strength. I should have taken the time to deal with it. I wanted to run away from dealing with it and I did," Priyanka told film critic and journalist Anupama Chopra on her show "The Front Row".

"I started work four days later, one, because my dad hated me sitting at home, and second, I would have lost my mind if I did."

"Losing my father was not just losing my dad, it was losing a part of me. My dad was my best friend, my idol and my protector. He was the man of my life, so I went back to work because that was my only solace and I haven't stopped since," she added.

The episode will be aired Nov 8 on Star World.

With an endeavour to try and become a renowned singer, which her father wanted her to be, the actress is slowly gaining success with her singles "In my city" and "Exotic".

"Hopefully, in a few years, I will be the musician that my dad wanted me to be or that I want to be. Whether it's 'In my city' or whether it's 'Exotic', for them to have done as well as they did, to hear it on the radio in LA, it's very cool," she said.

The actress is used to quick feedback for films, but music industry works at a different pace.

"The way the music industry works, especially in the West, is that one single comes out, it develops, it bubbles, then another one comes out, it bubbles," she said and added that the process takes a-year-and-a-half before your entire album comes.

"Whereas, I'm so used to movies, where we know on a Monday whether the movie is a hit or a flop," she said.

For the actress who has proved her mettle in films like "Fashion", "7 Khoon Maaf" and "Barfi!", both singing and acting hold an important place.

"I don't know if I have a preference. I didn't know anything about acting when I joined movies. I didn't know it was an art, it was a craft."

"It took me around four or five years to find out the actor in myself. But music, I learned my alphabets singing. That's how much it's been a part of me," she said.byy santa banta news network..

Movie Review: 'Escape Plan' is strictly for Arnold and Sylvester fans,

Movie Review: `Escape Plan` is strictly for Arnold and Sylvester fans
The two action heroes are back together in "Escape Plan" with energetic performances and Arnold and Sylvester are getting better with age. Sylvester (Ray Bresnin) is a security expert whose job is to get into secure prisons around the world and escape from there, in order to gauge the security measures of the prison concerned.

As the premise of Escape Plan unfurls, Ray is assigned with another assignment by CIA, of escaping from a prison which is considered to be one of the best when it comes to security.

After initial abhorrence, Ray takes up the task because of the huge remuneration for the work. However, when he gets into it his antics and his experience fails him, it becomes simply impossible for him to get out of that prison. The escapist decides to give up this time as it is not an easy task for him. However, fate is not on his side. As a last resort, he then teams up with his prison mate Swan Rotmayyer (Arnold) who is in early 60s and they hatch a master plan to escape the prison. So do they succeed or spend rest of their lives in the prison, go check out "Escape Plan".

The casting is perfect as the two heroes share a great screen presence together. However, a lot could have been done with the film as the two legends were together on screen.

With a high dose of over the top action, Escape Plan is an action packed two hour engrossing journey as the experienced director in Mikael Hafstrom knows his job pretty well. One expects some great action due to the high profile actors but this is one important area which is felt wanting. The first half of the film is a bit slow but is catches up well in the in the post interval part. A decent job done by Miles Chapman on screenplay but it could have been better.

All in all a decent production with a bit of loose ends; but electric performances by the action heroes is sure to watch out for. Warden's (Jim Caviziel) performance is a memorable one. I think the director knew what he wanted from him.

Makers to cast new faces for 'Milan Talkies'?

Makers to cast new faces for `Milan Talkies`?

After A-list actors left them high and dry, the makers of an upcoming film settle to cast rank newbies

The makers of the upcoming film 'Milan Talkies' have had some problems convincing their lead actors to stay put with the project. Sources say to tide over their problems, the makers have now decided to rope in newcomers to cast in the film.

Initially Imran Khan was said to star in the film but was replaced soon after by Shahid Kapoor, which apparently prompted Priyanka Chopra to stage a walk-out. Sasha too left soon after. Shraddha Kapoor was also approached but she too bid farewell to the movie. Then there was buzz about Varun Dhawan being considered for the film.

Says a source, `Tired of all this, the makers are now considering casting fresh faces or an actor who is comfortable working opposite a new actress.` Insiders say model-turned-actress Pooja Hegde has been approached to step into the female lead's shoes. `But nothing has been finalised,` adds the source. While producer Ekta Kapoor remained unavailable for comment, the CEO of the production house, Tanuj Garg denied the buzz.
