All of us do look up to Bollywood actors and actresses to show us a little about fitness. Certainly, if there is anybody from whom we can learn about being fit, it is the Bollywood stars and these are certainly the ones that we would look up to for some inspiration.

1. Bipasha Basu: Bipasha Basu is one of the fittest people in the industry, and certainly, she does put in enough effort to get her smoking body! Her fitness mantra is quite simple and accessible to people- she just makes sure she takes the stairs every time, instead of the elevator! Her workout regime mainly consists of yoga (her favourite), weight training and cardio.

2.Hema Malini: It might be surprising that an older woman made it to this list, but that is what got her here! Hema Malini was known for her figure during her youth and boy, she still maintains that lithe figure. Her workout regime consists of yoga and dancing.

3.Kareena Kapoor: She is an actress that made front page because of her “size zero” figure. Kareena has now managed to find a balance between being slender without looking lifeless. Her slender body is the result of tireless hours of yoga and weight training.

4.Kangna Ranaut: She is one slender, beautiful young lady. Kangna is further proof that yoga is Bollywood’s favourite muse when it comes to fitness. Kangna claims that yoga is a part of her daily routine, along with weight training. She also follows a strict no junk food diet, so that she can maintain her slim body healthy as well.

5.Malaika Arora Khan: We are sure all the ladies would kill to have legs like this lissom lass. Well, you can certainly get those slender, toned legs- if you hit the gym 3 times a week, like Malaika does. She includes aerobic and cardio workouts with some kickboxing and hip- hop dancing for her workout regime.

6.Neha Dhupia: Neha also follows yoga routines on a regular basis, but most of her fitness comes from playing sports. She is known to swim to maintain her fitness and she plays a whole host of other games as well. She also hits the gym for some weight training regularly.

7.Sameera Reddy: Sameera has one of the most enviable bodies in the industry. She maintains it by doing something almost all of us can do on a daily basis- walking. Walking tops the list of her workout regimen. She does claim that walking has done wonders to her figure. She is also a fan of yoga to maintain her figure and thinks that it is important to maintain a healthy diet and a good intake of liquids to keep the body fit and healthy.

8.Shilpa Shetty: One cannot talk about Bollywood actresses with amazing bodies without including Shilpa in the list. She has an enviably perfect body that she keeps sculpted through combined practice of yoga and regular gymming. As she herself confessed, she is quite careful about what she eats. She never snacks or drink aerated beverages and makes sure that she has a healthy intake of water everyday.

9.Sonam Kapoor: When her first movie released, Sonam was quite chubby and looked like the girl next door. Now, she is the fashionista that can take on any of the top models in the country! She is now slender and loving it. Her makeover was the result of a strict and healthy diet, lots of water and regular workouts.

Everton's Ross Barkley can reach the top, says Alan Hansen

Former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen says Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley has the ability to reach the highest levels in the game.

Barkley, 20, has won three England caps and been tipped for a place in the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"I don't think there's any doubt that if Barkley doesn't get injured he's going to be top of the tree," said Match of the Day's Hansen, who won eight league titles with Liverpool.

"He has got absolutely everything."

Everton manager Roberto Martinez likened his player to former midfielders Paul Gascoigne and Michael Ballack.

"I can see some Ballack in him and some Gazza," the Spaniard said.

"Ross has incredible potential. We need to give him time and accept he is not ready yet. That will take time, but he has absolutely everything."

Gascoigne was widely regarded as the most gifted English player of his generation.

Ballack won 98 caps for Germany and spent four years with Chelsea from 2006-10. He helped the Blues to the Premier League title and three FA Cups.

Former England striker Gary Lineker also remarked on the similar characteristics of Barkley and former Spurs team-mate Gascoigne.

"He has a bit of Gazza about him," tweeted Lineker.  "

"Similar stature, technique, confidence, ability to glide past opponents and a certain naivety."

Liverpool-born Barkley, who impressed again for Everton in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal on Sunday, made his debut for the Toffees two years ago in a1-0 defeat by QPR, but then spent time on loan at Championship sidesSheffield Wednesday and Leeds.

Having established himself as a regular at Goodison Park under Martinez, he made his first England appearance as a substituteagainst Moldova in September.

Barkley came off the bench twice more in last month's friendly defeats against Chile andGermany at Wembley.

"We have to make sure we give him at least another 50 starts to see his evolution," said Martinez.

"As a country, we need to be a little bit more protective about our youngsters because, if we look after him properly, he can give us something unique in English football and to the nation.

Ayesha Takia delivers a baby boy..

Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia gave birth to a baby boy on 6thDecember, 2013. Married to hotelier Farhan Azmi, Ayesha's delivery was due in mid-December. The ecstatic father announced the good news on twitter, "Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar" it's a BOY!"

Proud mother Ayesha Takia also shared her joy over the birth of the baby boy on twitter.

“Me and our son Thank u all sooo much and much love 2 all of you for the many blessings and good wishes we recieved. god bless,” Ayesha wrote.

Ayesha Takia starred in movies like Abbas-Mustan's 'Taarzan: The Wonder Car' in 2004, 'Wanted', 'Dor' and 'No Smoking'.

The actress tied the knot with Farhan Azmi in 2009 and was recently seen as the host of reality show 'Sur Kshetra'.

Both the mother and the baby are doing fine.

Parties and events are common in the star studded world of Bollywood. Here are the top events which were seen in the B town in 2013.

1.Cosmopolitan and Pantaloons organized a mega bash to launch the Pantaloons Women’s  Wednesday. This new property at the Phoenix Mills in Lower Parel has ben set up to give the new fashionistas a chance. The grand opening was attended by much fanfare. The presence of Gul Panag was a major attraction.

2.The Aamby Vallley India bridal fashion week was a real star studded event with celebrities walking the ramp in some of the most bnreathtaking designer creations ever. Abhishek Bachchan, Jacquelin Fernandez, Evelyn Sharma, Sania Mirza and Kalki Koelchin were among those present.

3The Standard Chartered Mumbai marathon is one of the biggest charity events of the year, liberally attracting the celebrities from Bollywood. The registration for the 2014 marathon was launched with much fanfare. John Abraham and Tara Sharma were noted at the launch.

4The Garodia International concert was another event in November. It was inaugurated by distinguished actor Jackie Shroff.

5.The NDTV Our girls our pride telethon fundraiser was another major event of the year. Several leading ladies including Priyanka Chopra and Kajol were spotted at the event while even SRK phoned in to take part in the telethon.

6The birthday celebration of a two year old may not sound like much, but things are not all the same if that two year old belongs to Aamir Khan. The actor threw a birthday bash for his son Azad and the event was filled with Bollywood celebrities including the adorable Aradhya Bachchan.

7.Another kid who turned two was Aaradhya Bachchan. Though her parents organized a small party with a fairytale theme, it included celebrity couples and their kids including Hrithik Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol and Ajay Devgn, Kiran Rao and Lara Dutta.

8.The most happening Diwali party was held, not in Mumbai but in Dubai where a number of celebrities flew in. The event was kicked off by the standup comedian Kapil Sharma. Ranveer, Deepika, Farhan Akhtar and Neeraj Shridhar were present at the party.

Karan Johar’s chat show, ‘Koffee with Karan’ has spilled many beans specially the Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor’s episode where Bebo confirmed Ranbir-Katrina’s love affair. Kareena also said that she is also looking forward to dance at Ranbir’s wedding to the hit numbers of Kat, ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ and ‘Chikni Chameli’. When Kat was asked to remark on Kareena’s statement, she laughs, “Whenever and whoever I get married to, I’d love to have Kareena dance at my wedding. She is a wonderful dancer…anyone from the industry would be welcome to shake a leg”.

When Kat was asked Kareena to comment about referring her as sister-in-law, she said, “I haven’t seen the episode. Kareena is a superb person, but a lot of stuff (on Karan Johar’s show) is said in jest. So, they are not to be taken very seriously”.

Katrina Kaif said she has not any plans to get hitched any time soon. She will be next seen in‘Jagga Jasoos’ opposite Ranbir. “While working with Ranbir, at times, I feel like I’ve gone five years back, to the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani (2009). On the sets, he is extremely focused. What’s fascinating about him is that he mingles and is pally with everyone — be it the spot boy, make-up dada or assistant directors”.

2013 has been fully Deepika Padukone’s year and when the diva was asked about Deepika’s achievement, she said, “I don’t look at it that way. Everyone is doing what’s best for their careers. And if their movies are doing well, I’ll only say, ‘Congratulations’”.

Katrina Kaif has been named the World’s Sexiest Asian Woman of 2013 yet again in a readers’ poll (by British weekly newspaper, Eastern Eye). She said, “I don’t take it seriously. Such things are all about perception. Yes, it’s great fun to know that. But do I feel that way? I don’t think so (laughs)”.

When Katrina was asked about her sister Isabelle’s debuting with Dr Cabbie? She replied, “Yes, I’m looking forward to what Isabelle does in the film. At the moment, she is interested in experimenting with English-language films. If she wants to enter Bollywood, she has to first learn Hindi.
