Big B Clears The Air Over The Supposed Patch Up With Raj Thackeray

Big B Clears The Air Over The Supposed Patch Up With Raj Thackeray
This week there was a lot of speculation over the Big B's supposed patch-up with the MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

The Big B and Thackeray apparently had a fall-out after the latter accused the mega-star of becoming the `brand ambassador` of Uttar Pradesh. In a later incident when Jaya Bachchan at a music function had expressed her comfort level with the Hindi language instead of Marathi ,Thackeray had made scathing comments on her linguistic preference.

Now five years later the Big B and Raj Thackeray came together for a function to commemorate seven years of the Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (MNCKS) at the Shanmukhanand Hall in Central Mumbai.

Speaking on the supposed rapprochement the Big B said, `I attended a function that paid respects to the hitherto-neglected faces of the Film Industry ,the workers ! Very little is ever known about them. The world never sees them or is aware of their contribution. They work tirelessly behind the scenes and are responsible in equal measure for the final outcome of any of our products.`

The Big B welcomes any effort to better the financial conditions of the film industry's work force. ` In a profession as fickle as ours, the security that these workers need for their future is something that requires attention. Many efforts have been made in the past by both institutes and individuals. Any design to take greater care for them is always welcome. The MNCKS has put together an instrument of insurance to these workers. Such a noble cause shall always have my endorsement !`

There is much reason to rejoice in Bachchan household as son Abhishek's film Dhoom 3 has become a record-breaking success. Speaking on the success the Big B says, `Dhoom 3, as we talk, is fast becoming the biggest grosser of all times. This bodes well for the makers and those involved in the film, as also the industry. I am happy that Abhishek has been involved in two back-to -back successes, or to put it more succinctly, in the now-recognized yardstick for a hit film the 100 crore club .For Dhoom 3 perhaps the collections would be a little more than the 100 crore !!.`

The proud father raves over Dhoom 3. `The film and its presentation are spellbinding. It strengthens our belief that the talent in our Industry is comparable to the best there is in the world. I would wish for it to continue to grow !!`

2013 has been as eventful for the Big B as any of his previous years. This year he took the plunge into fiction on television. Describing the experience he says, `TV serials are as exacting as any other entertainment profession ,difficult, full of apprehension and the joy of getting an opportunity to be involved in another aspect of this beautiful vocation.I am no different from any other . My involvement is that of an artist.I follow what the captain of the ship, the director, desires !`

The country went through tremendous turmoil during the year.Post-Nirbhaya violence against women was an issue that was deep-focused.Then the judiciary was under scrutiny after a Supreme Court judge was accused by an intern of sexual harassment. Finally the media came under the scanner after the Tarun Tejpal incident.

Reflecting on these the Big B says, `All the incidents you mention have one common thread , atrocities and unwanted behavior towards women ! The indignities that women had to and continue to bear, were highlighted, and perhaps after a very long time the common man/woman, without any political intent or provocation, took to the streets to express their anguish. People bore the brunt of intense police action and succeeded in convincing the powers to recognize the morass that plagued us as a society forcing the authorities to take immediate and corrective action. In a healthy and liberal democratic governance, these are pertinent signs.` As the year draws to a close the Big B sighs, `Another year gone by .. And another to follow .. then another .. then another .. and another .`byy santa banta news network..

Hrithik, Sussanne meet warmly at kids function

After a period of 17 years, Hrithik and Sussanne broke their wedding vows and decided to get separated. Hrithik Roshan announced that the love of his life and his wife Sussanne has decided to split, however, the star and his gorgeous wife disappointed gossipmongers when they came face to face after their split. They hugged each other and shook hands.

The separated couple met each other recently for their sons' annual function day event. Rather than giving each other the cold shoulder or awkward silent treatment, Hrithik and Sussanne were very cordial with each other. They even hugged each other and sat next to each other for the whole evening.

In fact at her store launch, Sussanne was very forthright about her separation and said that though Hrithik and she are separating, they will not let their children be affected by their split and carry on the responsibility of parents perfectly. Well, it's always good to see parents taking responsibility.byy santabantanews network..

Aamirkhan
Aamir Khan's latest release 'Dhoom: 3' has taken over the world by storm.
In India, Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom: 3', co-starring Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan, smashed the opening day and opening weekend collection records set by Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express' and Hrithik Roshan's 'Krrish 3'.
'Dhoom: 3' has also broken box office records in Pakistan. In the country's largest city of Karachi, 'Dhoom: 3's box office receipts from 56 screens on its opening day was around Rs 20 million shattering Pakistani film 'Waar's record of Rs 11.4 million on its opening day.

The rise and fall of stars in 2013,

(Merry christmas)

The rise and fall of stars in 2013
This year saw some overrated bubbles burst while some underrated blooms flourish at the same time in Bollywood

If one sits down to rate Bollywood personalities on the basis of their performance in a film, it won't take much of a criteria to decide whether they were good or not. Given the scale of time considered -- an entire year to be precise -- the process becomes a bit complicated. However, it's worth a try and we think some folks in B-Town were indeed overestimated while others, grossly understated. As a result, HitList points out a few names from both the category with respect to the year that's fast passing by...

Troughs

Priyanka Chopra
Even though it's admirable to witness a Hindi film actress taking key interest in singing (if we're not mistaken, yesteryear star Suraiya was the last one to efficiently balance both the disciplines), it was a cringeworthy year for PC thanks to horrible film choices -- especially after her work in Barfi! -- and two forgettable item songs. Also, Krrish 3 was a superhero film.

Akshay Kumar

Going by his box-office standards, Akki had a rather lukewarm year and it almost bordered on despair given the huge budgets he's known to be part of. Even his commercial films didn't ring a gong at the ticket counter. On the brighter side, his work in Special 26 was appreciated. But then, he seems more comfortable doing guaranteed blockbusters.

Sonakshi Sinha

She had four big releases and two special appearances and none of them made a blast at the box-office. In fact, Sona was pointed out for the repetitiveness in the characters she portrayed. Perhaps signing too many films is the reason. Maybe not. However, what's certain about her is that she can ace a role like Pakhi (Lootera) but masala cinema is too hard to resist.

Abhinav Kashyap

After the negative critical response to Besharam, the director went on an offensive stating that critics unfairly targeted the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer. Well, he deserves credit for convincing a talented actor like Ranbir to sign a debacle like Besharam. Other than that, everything about the Dabangg director seemed extremely overrated before the film released.

Shahid Kapoor

2013 was touted to be his comeback year. There were intense speculations that he's the only one among the younger lot capable enough to dethrone RK. Going by the verdict -- critical and commercial -- nothing of that sort materialised. Both his onscreen attempts, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and R... Rajkumar could barely prove a point. Next year perhaps?

Crests

Raj Kumar

He's undoubtedly a talent worth investing time in and going by his exploits in Kai Po Che and Shahid, it'd be criminal to overlook him. Last year saw the traces of his command in Gangs of Wasseypur, Talaash and Chittagong. This year took the scale a bit higher and it's beyond doubt that the non-conventional-looker has to be one of the most underrated actors in our country.

Rishi Kapoor

While others in his age category were planning retirement, Rishi decided to make a comeback. And what a journey it has been. If Agneepath set the wheels of second innings moving, 2013 saw massive instances of him dominating even the leading actors -- be it Chashme Baddoor or Aurangzeb, D-Day, Shuddh Desi Romance. He came back in a splendid manner.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

If you were to draw a list of the most exciting actors in the country today, let alone just Bollywood, Nawaz's name would easily figure in it. But for some inexplicable reason, he comes across as someone who will play the second fiddle to the main character. By virtue of his rich filmography over the past two years, he keeps bettering himself with every role.

Subhash Kapoor
At a press conference, this director was told that his latest film Jolly LLB had left a benchmark in the otherwise neglected courtroom drama. The affable filmmaker quipped, `I don't see any benchmark. Where is it?` before taking on the next question. It'd be nice to have this director churn out films on a regular basis instead of the usual three-years delay.

Hansal Mehta
One of the most outspoken filmmakers today, he doesn't bother to mince words and his films reflect that very aspect. If it weren't for the Shahid (finally) receiving a proper Friday release after travelling on the film circuit, Hansal wouldn't have made the list. His next project should emulate the biopic or else he'd see himself on the other side next year.

Anil Kapoor

When this veteran actor decided to move to small screen with a thriller -- a genre of television audience isn't very used to in the country -- a lot of skeptics were working full time. Now with the 24 season one coming to an end, it's worth noting that the actor merits credit for going ahead with the idea by producing the small screen adaptation and acting in it.

Richa Chadda

This actress often finds herself in the news for all the wrong reasons. Regardless, the critics generally cite her choice of films and courageous performances in each one of them -- so far. Richa had two big-banner releases and one short film in the year. And she earned positive remarks for her work although she still remains in the shadows.
